As an Associate Conservator at MOWAA, you will play a pivotal role in the preventive care and restoration of art and artifacts within our collection. Your responsibilities will include managing and treating a variety of artworks, conducting research, providing expert advice on conservation practices, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure the preservation of our valuable assets.
- Manage and treat artworks using appropriate conservation techniques.
- Monitor the physical condition and environmental parameters of objects.
- Offer expert advice on display and storage methods to ensure preservation.
- Evaluate conditions for incoming and outgoing loans.
- Conduct scientific research on objects within the collection.
- Document changes in physical state and assess risk to objects.
- Train staff and external partners on conservation practices.
- Cultivate relationships with potential clients for external conservation services.
- Travel to host venues for exhibitions and oversee art handling processes.
- Bachelor’s or post-graduate degree in Conservation or related field.
- Proven experience in conservation projects and object care.
- Basic photography skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
