As an Assistant Professor in Political Theory, you will be responsible for conducting research and teaching in the field of political philosophy. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any area of political theory, particularly those who can integrate historical perspectives into contemporary debates. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach courses in the history of political thought and contribute to the Centre for Political Thought's activities.
- Conduct research in political theory, with a focus on the history of political thought
- Teach courses in the history of political thought and related areas
- Engage with colleagues and contribute to the intellectual community at Durham University
- Contribute to the development of the Centre for Political Thought's research agenda
- Participate in departmental initiatives to diversify the curriculum and promote inclusivity
- PhD in Political Science, Philosophy, or a related field
- Demonstrated expertise in political theory, particularly the history of political thought
- Strong research record and potential for future research excellence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience teaching courses in political theory at the university level
- Familiarity with innovative educational practices and curriculum development
